At eight months pregnant with twins, Clara won $850,000 in the lottery.
She had hoped it would be a moment of joy, a change for her small, quiet life. But her mother-in-law, Dolores, immediately demanded the money. “It belongs to the family,” she said sternly.

Clara gently placed a hand on her belly. “I bought the ticket myself. This is for my children.”

Clara recounted everything: the slap, the fall, the threats, the recording.
