He desired to give her a call to express his continued affection for her. She never returned his calls when he tried to reach her. However, she was also filled with sadness as she questioned how, after all these years, he was still unable to comprehend her.
She knew it was him, so she decided there was no purpose in talking longer and just let the phone ring. She was unaware, though, that he had cardiac issues. She found out about his passing the following day.
Rushing to his apartment right away, she discovered his lifeless body on the couch, still clutching her phone. While he was trying to get to her, he had a heart attack. She felt depressed, but she had to get rid of his stuff.
As she rummaged through the drawers, she discovered an insurance policy that was active as of their wedding day. She had a beneficiary’s list. Moreover, there was a note that read:
“To my beloved spouse, It’s likely that I won’t be here when you read this.
For you, I purchased this policy. Even though it’s only $100,000, I hope it will be enough to support me in keeping the commitment I made to you when we were married. Even though I might not be here much longer, I want this money to help you in the same way that I would have if I had lived longer.
I want you to know that I’ll be here for you no matter what. I cherish you. The tears were like a river.
Telling someone you love them is important. You can never predict what may occur in a minute. Build a life together, together.
Recognize and love one another. for what they actually are. Not what they appear to be.
