While my husband was away, my father-in-law told me to take a hammer and break the tile behind the toilet: I saw a hole behind the tile, and something terrible was hidden in the hole

I was standing in the kitchen, washing dishes. My son was playing at the neighbors’, and my husband was away on business. It seemed like an ordinary evening.

But at that moment, I felt someone standing behind me. I turned around – it was my father-in-law. His face was tense, his gaze – as if expectant.

“We need to talk,” he whispered so quietly that it was barely audible over the noise of the water. “What happened?” I asked, anxiously wiping my hands on a towel. He took a step closer, leaned down to my ear:

“While my son is away… take a hammer and break the tile behind the toilet in the bathroom.

No one should know about this. I couldn’t help but laugh – I thought the old man had gone crazy. – Why ruin the renovation?

We’re selling this house soon…

But he abruptly interrupted me, squeezing my fingers with his bony hands:

– Your husband is cheating on you. The truth is there. There was something in his eyes that didn’t let me brush it off.

He was afraid. So afraid, as if his life depended on this conversation. I felt anxiety brewing in my chest.

At first, I wanted to brush it off, but curiosity began to get the better of me. Half an hour later, I was already standing in the bathroom. There was no one in the house.

I locked the door, took a hammer out of the closet and hesitated for a long time to hit the wall. I looked at the smooth, white tiles that my husband had so carefully laid himself. “Should I break them?

What if my father-in-law is really just delirious?”

But my hands lifted the hammer themselves. The first blow was quiet – the tile only cracked. The second was louder, a piece fell off, hitting the tiled floor with a loud thud.

I held my breath and brought the flashlight closer.

There was a dark hole behind the tile. And there was something in that hole…

My hands started shaking.

I stuck my fingers into the hole and felt a rustling bag. My heart was pounding loudly in my temples. I slowly pulled it out.

The old plastic film, yellowed with time, seemed harmless. But as soon as I unwrapped it, I covered my mouth with my hand to keep from screaming in horror. Inside were teeth.
