My husband, Jack, is the father of three children over 21 years old. When I met him, he was devastated, having lost his wife two years earlier. He became a father young and, tragically, a widower after only a few years.
About a year after we met, he introduced me to his children, and we didn’t get along at all. I understood why they were wary of my relationship with their father, who is ten years younger than me. He is 43, and I am 53.
