I found out I was excluded from my own sister’s wedding on a Tuesday afternoon in late September, sitting in my Denver apartment with a cup of coffee growing cold between my hands. “Well, that’s the thing,” she said finally. “Your father and I were handling all the travel arrangements and somehow we forgot to book your plane ticket and your hotel room.
